Justicearcity was also ordered to pay $1 million in punitive damages for his clients and to forfeit his legal profits.
The case was brought by the plaintiffs who claim that the defendants used sildenafil citrate in the same way as prescription drugs used in treating pulmonary hypertension. The defendants allegedly were using sildenafil in a similar way as prescription drugs, according to the plaintiff, who said that they were not doing the same job.
The plaintiff said he took sildenafil with a daily dosage of 100 milligrams and his patients took it for an average of four weeks. When the patients went home and took sildenafil and the dosage was reduced, the doctors prescribed a different dosage, which he said was the same. The doctors said the same effect was seen when they stopped taking the drug and the patients experienced an improvement in their condition. Doctors said the patients who stopped taking the drug were also taking a second dose, which was then reduced. The patients said the drugs were taken at the same time and the doctors said the doctors were aware of the drug's effects.
The case is being prosecuted by United States Attorney General William J. Sourial.
The U. S. Food and Drug Administration said in a statement that the plaintiff is entitled to a no-show cause evidentiary hearing on the matter. Sourial is currently prosecuting the case.
The case was docketed in the U. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation and was assigned to Judge David E. L. W. Doerster on Nov. 21, 2023.
